Extract pages from a PDF into one new file
Extract a single page or dozens at once: they all go into one PDF, and your original file is left untouched. They keep the order they have in the original, whatever order you picked them in.
Ticking a thumbnail and typing in the field change the same selection: tick page 4 and it appears in the field, type 7-9 and those pages are marked on the thumbnails.

How to extract PDF pages
When you click Extract Pages, the selected pages are copied into a new, empty PDF. Each one keeps its size, orientation and content: nothing is turned into an image or resized, so text you could select before is still selectable.
Only pages are copied. The new file doesn't inherit the original's bookmarks or its title and author details, which is worth knowing when you pull a chapter out of a long, bookmarked manual.
Whether you call it exporting pages from a PDF or extracting them, the status line below the options counts the pages you picked and how many the new file will hold. When the file is ready, the result shows the number of pages extracted and a preview to check before you save it.

Extract Pages always makes one PDF, however scattered the pages you pick, so it's the tool to extract a page from a PDF document without breaking the rest apart. Split PDF cuts a document into several files and starts a new one at each gap in the page numbers.
No. It works on one PDF at a time, since a page number means something different in each file. Extract from each one, then join the results with Merge PDF.
It is ignored, so typing 1-100 for a 12-page PDF selects pages 1 to 12. Letters and unfinished ranges such as 5- are skipped the same way.
It stays off until at least one page is selected. With the everything-except option ticked, it also stays off when every page is selected, because nothing would be left to extract.
Run the tool twice on the same upload. Click Odd and then Extract Pages, then click Even and extract again: each run gives you its own PDF.
No. A page is either selected or not, so it appears once. To repeat one, extract it on its own and add that file next to the other in Merge PDF.
A password-protected PDF can't be opened for picking pages, so the upload is refused. Unlock it first with Remove Password, then extract from the unlocked copy.
Yes. Extraction works on whole pages and never reads the text on them, so a scan is handled like any other PDF.
